Aphrodisiac Crisps

There are many things that may leave us feeling hot under the collar – oysters, strawberries, intense perfume… but crisps?

Crisps probably aren’t at the top of your list of get-in-the-mood foods, but Tyrells is looking to change that, releasing the ‘first’ aphrodisiac crisps just in time for Valentine’s Day.

Hoping to get pulses racing, the honey- and chilli-flavoured crisps are claimed to be full of aphrodisiac properties, with both ingredients said to have provocative effects on the body.

The crisps are described as combining the sweet, mellow flavour of honey with the fiery tongue-tingling spice of chilli, which as a result should heat up any date night.

If that doesn’t work, then Tyrells is also offering crisp lovers the chance to win a selection of date night essentials, possibly more likely to get you in the mood.

The prize includes wine, candles and a mysterious specially created treasure hunt game (details of which are under wraps).

The crisps will be available from mid-January for a limited time only.

Believe it or not, aphrodisiac crisps aren’t the weirdest crisp flavour we’ve heard of, with Walkers launching Brussels sprouts-flavoured crisps for Christmas last year. Iceland also launched Christmas tree flavour crisps, which were made with oil from real pine needles.
