41 Megapixels Phone

One of the big jaw-droppers at this year’s Mobile World Congress in Barcelona is the new 41-megapixel camera-phone from Nokia: the 808 PureView.

The Verge notes that while the phone is billed at 41 million pixels, this handset doesn’t take full 41-megapixel stills. Instead, it oversamples — taking the image data from seven neighboring pixels and consolidating it into one pixel’s worth — and generates pictures roughly 5 megapixels in size. That’s still plenty of dots for most uses, and the image quality you can obtain from such a system is frankly ridiculous.

Floating Bluetooth Speaker

Lotus is a Bluetooth speaker that syncs with your smartphones and devices, to provide sublime auditory satisfaction while taking a soak. Float it next to your yellow duck and simply take in the ripple sensations as they stir the water in rhythm to the beats of the music. Waterproof et al, the Lotus has in it the makings of a brilliant new bath toy.

iPhone Amp Boost

Need to amp the volume on your device? The iFrogz Boost NearField Audio speaker is the simplest solution ever. Just put nearly any smartphone or digital media device on top of the Boost with the external speakers playing and the Boost magically amplifies the sound. It just works. No wires. No Bluetooth. No Synching. No problem. An auxiliary line-in jack is provided for devices without external speakers.

IdeaPad YOGA – Tablet with Keyboard

A common hesitation when considering a tablet purchase is its lack of a keyboard. People like portability but functionality comes first, making the ultrabook a sound solution. Lenovo’s IdeaPad YOGA bridges the gap between tablet and notebook as a first of its kind four-in-one folding device. Closed, it functions as a 13-inch tablet. But when open, it’s a full-size notebook with a keyboard and palm rest. Additionally, it bends like an easel to prop itself up for presentations. As tablets are being used for display boards increasingly often, the ability to stand alone is vital. Fortunately, the IdeaPad YOGA does a pretty impressive downward facing dog.

PopSockets for iPhone

If you’ve ever wished for a third hand while using your iPhone, then PopSockets is the answer. This innovative case has two sockets on the back that pop out and provide support for your phone while you use it. When you’re done, the sockets slide back into the case so you can slip the phone in your pocket without difficulty.

Imagine being able to watch videos on your iPhone without having to hold the phone up or balance it on its side. Need to text? Use one of the sockets to prop the phone at a higher angle for easier key access. PopSockets can also modify your phone case so it can clip on a belt, sit on your shoulder while you’re deep in conversation, or be held easily when you only have one hand free.

When you’re on the move, PopSockets allows you to wrap your headset cord out of the way. The best feature might just be PopSockets’ graphics. From robots to activists’ raised fists, the designs are a great way to bring a little artistry to your phone.

PopSockets do more than just protect your iPhone; they revolutionize it by making it even more user-friendly. If you’re ready to get in on the ground floor of iPhone enhancement, look no further than PopSockets.

+dd USB

This is an original and well though USB cable that minimise clutter  of your USB port while doing the job. Titled “+dd USB” (read “add USB”), it makes one more port available for any other USB devices, on both a restricted laptop and the back of the desktop.

A nice alternative to both hubs and today’s simple cables. Available this term at the firm retail partners and on www.sylho.com

Direct Phone Charging

This is a really clever concept from Francois Rybarczyk, which changes the way we charge our mobile phones by taking any unnecessary cables out of the equation.

The phone would come with a special module, which can be left attached to the handset and plugged into the wall directly, or just plugged in on its own then transferred back to the phone later on so you can still use it while it’s charging. Genius!

TypeWay Keyboard

The limitations of typing on a touchscreen hinder how effective tablets can be as productivity tools. There is hope, though, at least for iPad users. This TypeWay keyboard supposedly makes things easier, by adapting the key layout for each user.

Like the velociraptors in Jurassic Park, the TypeWay replacement keyboard learns and remembers, automatically adjusting the layout and placement of keys depending on your typing style, skill level, or habits. It’s basically the first ergonomic on-screen keyboard that can still lead to repetitive stress injuries.

City Space; Rural Time

In Portugal, the urban population keeps growing year after year, in accordance to the world tendency for desertification of the rural space.

In the urban space, the pace is increasingly fast because time is money and every second counts. USMA is a clock without a visual interface, resorting only to sound to mark the passage of time.

The sound of the church bell is the clock hand which intends to bring home the rural experience with the definite goal of giving a new rhythm to city life.

Wallee Headrest

SwissMiss: Wallee Headrest Mount for the car made me look. Our iPad usually saves long car rides but I oftentimes end up holding it awkwardly between me and my husband on the armrest. Well, Wallee might save the day. Has anyone of you tried it? Kiddo approved?
