Cool Carbon Fiber Business Cards

Uncrate.com: Show off your business’ materials acumen with Carbon Fiber Business Cards. These cards are made from thin, lightweight real carbon fiber that provides a depth not seen with traditional card stock, and imbed your graphics under a layer of epoxy coating, keeping them from scratching or wearing off, and thus extending the lifetime of your promotional investment. As a bonus, they might also match your high-end “corporate” vehicle.

Protrait Pizza

Gizmodiva: Who doesn’t want a slice of the royal wedding? Everyone does but everyone won’t; except if you’re on your way to Papa John’s. Prince William and Kate Middleton will be amused to see an edible version of them made of cheese, salamis, mushrooms and such tasty ingredients. The odd pizza has been created by food artists working for Papa John’s as a way of celebrating the forthcoming marriage.

Postagram – Real Postcards from iPhone

CNet: Introducing Postagram: instantly print and ship your Instagram photos right from web or iPhone. Send high-quality photos to friends and family, anywhere, anytime.

Postagram uses the Instagram API. It requires that users have an Instagram login and the app installed on their phone. But from there, it looks like a quick procedure to select a photo from your Instagram library, put a message of up to 140 characters on it, address it (unfortunately the app can’t access your phone’s address book directly), and have it sent out as a postcard through the mail.

Easy Join Me App

Appolicious: Say you’re collaborating with a colleague or client on a special project. You’re having difficulty explaining a detail in words, and you’re hundreds of miles away from your nearest contact. This is the perfect opportunity to try join.me Viewer for Android.

The app not only works like a private chat room, but it also shares your in-action computer screen with a select number of people. It’s a great business tool that allows you to start meetings, web conferences or ad-hoc collaborations from anywhere you can get a Wi-Fi signal.

What’s especially great about it is how easy it is to use. Just have everyone who would like to be part of the conference download the join.me app. In the meantime, you (or whoever is facilitating the discussion) heads over to https://join.me and hits the big “Share” button (This is what starts the broadcast). Next, you’ll be given a nine-digit code. This is the number your team will enter into the app to gain access to the meeting.

Tag Your Beer

Springwise: Evenings spent at a busy party or bar can often cause drinkers to lose track of their beverages. Wine drinkers already have wine charms to identify their glasses, and now — thanks to BeerTag — there’s an equivalent for beer drinkers too.

The company claims that 32 percent of US beer drinkers resort to ripping the label of their beer bottle in order to mark it as their own in a social setting; 46 percent, meanwhile, choose a particular spot to set it down in so as to keep closer track of it. Chicago-based BeerTag, however, hopes to end all that with a distinctive — and even advertising-ready — sleeve that fits over the neck of a beer bottle to identify whose it is.

FlexNatür Flexible Spaces

Iconoculture: Life changes, so why shouldn’t living spaces? In Toronto, condo buyers can invest in flexibility with FlexNatür. Instead of buying square footage with a pre-designed floor plan, buildings with FlexNatür enable residents to buy units of space, adding or selling increments and reconfiguring the floor plan as their lifestyle needs change.

Architectural flexibility is built in. Raised floors, for example, can be reshaped without hacking into the concrete substructure. Each unit has self-contained utilities, so plumbing can be reconfigured without shutting down water in the entire building.

The concept, developed by Parallax developers and Sweeny, Sterling & Finlayson architects, is being used in several downtown condo projects, priced from around $250,000 up to $1.25 million.

A Paper Record Player

Kellianderson: The hand-spun record yields a garbled, but scrutable listening of an original song by the couple. It requires a bit of tinkering and folding —effectively championing the inner science-nerd kid in the recipient. The whole thing serves as an interactive packaging for the song—which can be experienced on the paper record player, unscrewed + set on a regular turntable, or enjoyed online (for the non-nerds and/or audiophiles out there.)  Here is a video of the player in action:

So that’s what it is. Pretty cool, eh? Download the entire song here. It is under a free culture license, so you can even remix it if you feel compelled.

My Grip Pen for Kids

Springwise: Available in a wide range of colors, the My Grip is built from curved pieces that can be interconnected in Lego-like fashion. Young kids just learning how to write need only two or three for a pen of the right size, but as they get older four or five will make more sense. Thanks to the curve of those pieces, the resulting pen can be moulded ergonomically to the shape of the child’s right or left hand. Each piece can also serve as a cap to protect the pen’s durable iridium nib. Perhaps best of all, though, is that the pen’s brightly colored pieces can be collected and exchanged, while options like colored ink and glitter take the personalization options even further. A unique code supplied with each pen, meanwhile, provides access to a variety of online activities.

Wahoo Fitness Gadgets

TrendCentral: Those lacking the resources of an NFL team can still monitor personal fitness in an attainable, and affordable, way. Wahoo Fitness leverages a device rarely gone without – the smartphone – to help non-pros keep tabs on their training progress. Using its recently introduced Fisica Sensor Key to connect any fitness sensor to a single smartphone, Wahoo Fitness is delivering vitals to the palms of users’ hands. Outfitted with ANT technology, Wahoo’s new dongle plugs into the iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS or iPhone 4, upon which it keeps tabs on everything from heart rate to stride. Bike packages and a run bundle with specific sensors to track distance and speed ensure that marathon contenders will be ready come race time.
