Luxist: If you are going to spend the money to travel well, why not have a truly unique experience. Wines Travel takes a few guests on experiences that combine luxury with education of a rather unique sort. For example, a six-day trip scheduled for June offers total immersion in one of the most sought after areas of France and a decent wine education. The trip includes a full official WSET (Wine and Spirit Education Trust) course pack and certification and a proprietary Chêne Bleu practical diploma as well as tuition and gourmet food for 5,700 euros a person.

Handy Innovation

New York Times: In the coming months, the likes of Microsoft, Hitachi and major PC makers will begin selling devices that will allow people to flip channels on the TV or move documents on a computer monitor with simple hand gestures. The technology, one of the most significant changes to human-device interfaces since the mouse appeared next to computers in the early 1980s, was being shown in private sessions during the immense Consumer Electronics Show here last week. Past attempts at similar technology have proved clunky and disappointing. In contrast, the latest crop of gesture-powered devices arrives with a refreshing surprise: they actually work.

Clubs for Tweeters

January 21, 2010 · 0 comments

eeterclub.jpgTechCrunch: While Twitter is an incredible platform for tapping into the conversations that are taking place on the web, the real-time stream can be crowded. It’s hard to keep track of back-and-forth communication between users or to keep track of subject-related Tweets based on hashtags. Recently launched TweeterClubs aims to create a real-time conversation around the Tweets that are broadcast to the web.

Once you log into the site with your Twitter account, you can enter the tweet on the TweetUp tab. Your tweet will appear in both the club and on Twitter automatically. TweeterClubs will only show the tweets that come from the club members and when you log in, you are automatically a member. At the moment, the site only shows one club, the “Tweetheart Club,” which includes the Tweets of the six women profiled in the controversial Vanity Fair article. But TweeterClubs’ founder Jeff Whitehead says the site is planning to open up so allow anyone to create their own clubs.

You-and-Me-Wall-Clock.jpg

Gizmodiva.com: The you and me wall clock is great for couples in a long distance relationship. Keeping track of each others time is the key to make a relationship work in such cases and the ‘You and me wall clock’ is only helping as it keeps track of other time zones too. This clock comes with a total of 6 different blank spare hands and a marker; which means if you are seeing different people in different countries then this is the best thing to have ever happened to you provided you don’t confuse yourself and mess things up. Don’t expect any colors other than bright, hot pink and nothing less than $54.95 can get you the ‘You and Me’ wall clock.

Novelty Pop-up Placemats

Babygadget: Sometimes it feels like we'll do anything to amuse our children at mealtimes, in the interest of getting ourselves a little peace and quiet to enjoy the food. If you've exhausted the possibilities of novelty plates, cutlery, and all the rest of it, it could be time you invested in some pop-up jungle placemats.

The little paper fellows accompanying your kid as he eats are a nice idea in themselves, but when you add in the stickers showing different choices of clothes and faces, well now, you really have bought yourself some adult talking time. Just the thing to keep safely until your next family gathering.

Self%20Cleaning%20Coffee%20Table.jpg

Born Rich: Considering the fact that we toss over our drinks one out of 10 times and that too when we are doing something important like playing a competitive game of Halo, we definitely need to think of a way to avoid our drink spilling on the floor couch.

However, somebody has taken all the pain onto himself to save us the time from cleaning the spilled coffee with a very simple coffee table mod. A coffee table that would act as a file server, media control for my living room TV, and light entertainment for guests is sure to be welcomed in any geek’s home.
