cjonline.com: People now can access information about parks and golf courses in Topeka and Shawnee County at one place - unwind.topeka.net.

The new website allows browsers to discover parks and other green spaces they may not have known about, said Barbara Hollingsworth, manager of product portfolio development for Topeka.net.

"Sometimes you don't realize what is in your own backyard," Hollingsworth said about the new site. "We hope people will use this as a resource to get out, get active and discover all of the thing they didn't know Topeka had. As a parent, I think it's cool because you can find all of the parks in town."

The site has 103 park listings. Each listing is complete with photographs, the amenities available and a description of the park. "We have extended features on some of the more impressive amenities the parks have," Hollingsworth said. "You can also get the latest listing of events that are going on at the parks. That should be a big asset for people."
