NewsTarget.com: According to a study conducted by market researchers Constat Inc. and The Kelsey Group, 70 percent of American households now find local businesses using the Internet. A poll conducted in October 2003 found the figure to be 60 percent, with 73 percent using the local newspaper. If current trends continue, the Internet will become more popular for local business searches than newspapers in the next year.

I'm taking advantage of the local search trend for myself and my clients.
New technology now allows small local and regional companies to effectively and efficiently hook customers online and only in the geographic areas where the businesses operate.
Online advertising platform, ReachLocal selects the sites we'll advertise on, manages keywords for each site, and optimizes my ads daily.
They even offer advertisers a free website. So, there is no excuse not to tap into this trend.
