Electric Charging Points on Vending Machines

TrendBlog: In Japan we are used to seeing a venidng machine on every corner. Using this availability a consortium of ten Japanese companies announced that they would team together to install 10,000 plus electric chargers at vending machine sites by the end of the year.

The move comes along with Toyota’s partnership with convenience store chain FamilyMart to install charging stations at their stores in Saga prefecture and eventually across the nation. The move aims at tackling the problem of drivers worried about the distance the cars can travel on charges and lack of charging points. Vending machine manufacturer Forking, part of the consortium, which currently owns over a million vending machines across Japan, also sees vending machines themselves eventually incorporating chargers themselves.
